Tim Farron has stated he is to step down as chief of the Liberal Democrats, less than per week after the election.

In a announcement, he stated he became "torn among dwelling as a loyal Christian and serving as a political leader".

He stated he should have dealt "greater wisely" with questions referring to his faith at some point of the election marketing campaign, including his perspectives on gay intercourse.

"To be a frontrunner, specially of a revolutionary liberal party in 2017 and to stay as a devoted Christian and to hold faithful to the Bible's teaching has felt impossible for me."
