Fire Engulfs Tower Block in Latimer Road, West London

A big fire has engulfed a tower block in Latimer road, west London, with pictures suggesting the flames have unfold to all 24 storeys.
The fire at Grenfell Tower at the Lancaster West estate was stated at 01:16 BST and about two hundred firefighters are tackling the blaze.

The Metropolitan Police stated "an evacuation method is beneath way".
The BBC's Andy Moore stated the entire tower block became alight and there are fears the building may crumble.

The London fire Brigade say forty fire engines have been despatched to the tower.

Eyewitnesses say they might see lighting - idea to be torches - flashing on the top of the block of residences, which people say is "close to burning thru".

George Clarke, the presenter of outstanding areas, informed Radio five live: "i am getting blanketed in ash, that is how awful it is.

"i am one hundred metres away and i am really blanketed in ash.


"it is so heartbreaking, i have visible a person flashing their torches on the top stage and that they obviously can not get out."
